A value cannot be placed on CFI membership. CFI leads the way for members who are recognized and respected by the Industry as individuals who possess the knowledge required to understand, review and perform installation procedures.  It is also a known fact that without the support of the World Floor Covering Association and CFI’s Associate Members, the extensive schedule of training programs and certification events would be much more difficult to achieve.

This year, we changed the focus of certification to training.  At the CFI events, those who attend receive small-group training on seaming, powerstretching, patterned carpet installation techniques, substrate preparation and stair upholstery. If at the end of the day, the trainer/certifier has witnessed the demonstration of skills that qualify the installer for the R-I and/or C-I Certification, it is awarded.  Higher levels of certification at which no assistance is provided are not available at all events. 

CFI has provided training to over 40,000 since 1993.  CFI installers and associates are located in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Guam and in several foreign countries, including China, Japan, England, Germany, Canada, South Africa (over 4,000), India and Australia. 

The CFI Team of 79 Trainers consists of the most knowledgeable and skillful flooring installers in the Industry. Their “people skills,” training expertise and ability to share information and techniques with others has placed this group at the helm of training leadership.  Annually, they receive updated training that focuses on skill, techniques, knowledge and the latest information from the manufacturing community to share nationwide at CFI events. 

Workshops can be designed to meet specific needs of the hosting party.  The majority of CFI programs can be conducted as on-site dealer training events.
